What Is Office 365?

Office 365 is the brand name used by Microsoft for a group of software and services available with a subscription.

Most Office 365 subscription levels include a cloud implementation of SharePoint, or more accurately SharePoint Online.

That implementation of SharePoint online is automatically created when the subscription is activated but not configured in a particularly useful manner.

Why SharePoint Online?

  • Reduce cost by achieving access to SharePoint functionality with vastly reduced ownership costs.
  • Reduce risk with a platform to which Microsoft is committed.
  • Achieve compliance with SharePoint document and records management features.
  • Increase efficiency with a collaborative platform.
